The Glen Waverley Cougars Cricket Club are in mourning after the passing of one of our esteemed Life Members, Mark Hughes.
Mark passed away early this morning after a lengthy battle with cancer, aged 45.
Mark had a real passion for the Cricket Club starting in our U/12's, playing all levels of Juniors and then playing Seniors right through to last season, 2009/10.
Mark served on the Cougars Committee for over 10 years and Coached our Juniors for 10 seasons taking our U/14's to Back to Back Premierships.
Mark played 327 games in total for the Cougars and always gave his all to the Club.
Mark scored over 3000 runs and snared 225 wickets.
Mark's dad Julian, now currently retired, played many a game with Mark and I am sure Julian will treasure those memories for ever.
