The Glen Waverley Cougars are delighted to announce the Club’s 27th 1st XI Captain, Adam MacGregor.

Since starting his cricketing career with the Cougars back with our Under 13’s in 2007/08, Adam’s talent with both the bat and the ball has lead him to numerous opportunities to develop into the cricketer he is today. Having been selected to play in representative and carnival squads as a Junior, Adam quickly caught the eye of both Sub-District and District cricket Club’s and went off to play with Mount Waverley CC and Richmond CC respectively.

Adam returned to the Cougars in recent seasons, bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience and talent into a group who were building and pushing towards the Club’s first 1st XI flag in 21 seasons.

Ultimately, Adam played an crucial role in achieving this success with his raw talent, leadership and tactical mindset, he was both feared and respected by opponents, and truly appreciated by his teammates.

With an opportunity opening up after Paul Atkins stepped down as Captain following last seasons premiership, Adam will no doubt look to fill the huge shoes of his predecessor, and continue to build on a the Club’s brilliant on and off-field culture.

The Club is also thrilled to announce that Rick Alabaster & Dave Bennett have accepted the roles of 1st XI Vice Captains for Season 2024/25.

Congratulations Adam, well deserved!
