David’s first game for the Club was as a very young 10 y.o. with the U/12’s in 1977/78.

Over the next four seasons the U/12’s and U/14’s were runners-up before he was a member of a Premiership team in 1981/82 with the U/14’s.

David won the U/16 Batting Award including a fine knock of 81 at Capital Reserve.

After 65 junior games, he moved into Senior ranks, playing in the 3rd XI Premiership of 1984/85. He went on to Captain the 2nd XI in 1988/89 to runners-up. One of David’s highlights was captaining the 2nd XI to a flag in 1992/93, the season considered one of the Club’s finest with our top two teams winning Premierships.

David held the position of Captain or vice-Captain of the 2nd XI and 3rd XI for the next 8 seasons. His steady and economical bowling saw him win 4 Bowling Awards.

David’s energetic involvement as Social Convenor in 1996/97 lifted the profile of social activities at the Club, with many new initiatives including end of season trips, videos of social events and matches, and a Club Theme Song. He also promoted recognition of players’ milestones with the Club.

David captained the 2nd XI and played his 200th Club game in Round 3 of the 2005/6 season and then registered his 300th Club game in 2019/20.

David played in the 4th Xl Premiership Team in 2021/22 and was awarded the player of the match with a fine 50no,
David also has the 2nd Xl “MVP” trophy named in his honour and is a member of the inaugural Veterans team in 2018.
