Des came to the Club in 1980/81 and served on the Committee in various roles for 14 consecutive seasons.

He held the positions of Vice President (for 5 seasons), Junior Co-ordinator, Delegate, Junior Coach and he also assisted as Material Convenor during this time.

Des was a regular attendee at all Club functions covering both Juniors and Seniors.

On field he Captained the 3rd XI Premiership team in 1983/84 and was Captain or vice-Captain of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th XI’s for 8 seasons.

Des was a good allrounder, and his three Batting Awards and one Bowling Award was testament to his ability with both bat and ball.

He also played in a number of Association Representative Teams.
