The Club lost its oldest Premiership player last week with the passing of Wal Squires aged 91.
Wal was an outstanding player for the Club in its formative years and commenced playing in the 1968/9 season.
He played 85 games and during this time as a fast bowler took 267 wickets and currently is equal 10th for most wickets with the Club.
His best figures were 8 for 13 and his highest score was 90 runs.
Wal is a member of the Clubs ‘All Stars Team’ of the first 25 years.
He was a 1st XI Premiership player in 1968/9 and 1971/2 and in the Runners Up team of 1970/71.
He took out the 1stX1 Bowling Award in 1969/70 and again in 1972/73, and was Vice Captain of the team in 1971/2 and 1972/3.
